Quality remains a factor, so digital printing, which offers the flexibility of low volumes of impressions, was not going to be an option for us. We're often asked to print special colours and use special stocks for our clients. Sometimes we need to change the CMYK to suit a customer's specific needs. We're a very customer focused operation here, and we attract work because customers know we look after the specifics of their job, even if it means quick changes of stock, or variations of colour. So digital didn't really suit our requirements – it was always going to be an offset solution here.

The logical step was to add a four-colour press capable of high quality reproduction, fast turnaround and versatility in the range of stock types to be processed.

Robert Price turned to Graffica, which has supplied Priden Print's finishing requirements for some years – it has cylinder diecutters, paper counters and a folder amongst capital equipment purchases from Graffica.

The new B452 arrived in mid-September and a smooth installation with plenty of back-up and support from Graffica meant it was up and running and bringing in business from the very beginning, said Price.
